Falklands: Note circulated to members of Chiefs of Staff Committee - COS(Misc) 187/742/1 ("Military Options for repossession of the Falkland Islands") [includes Chilean option] [declassified Oct 2017]

The Military Options paper was regularly updated during the war by the Defence Policy Staff, weekly by the time this particular revision was issued, more frequently when requested. It was considered by the Chiefs of Staff Committee. Ministers seem to have had some access to it - the 1 May edition was apparently considered at Chequers on 2 May for example - although it was not formally circulated to OD(SA).
