Falklands: Cabinet Office note of unminuted OD(SA) decision on special forces operation - OD(SA)(82) 34th (0900Z) (decision to authorise both phases) [intelligence gathering and offensive action approved; Mandarins' Group held inconclusive discussion of alternatives] [declassified 2012]

The decision is noted in a letter dated 19 May; listed by date on which it was made. There is no reference in the minutes themselves.

The decision would appear to relate to Operation Plum Duff, the landing of an SAS team outside Rio Grande air base in southern Argentina from which were flown its Exocet carrying Super Etendard aircraft. See Ewen Southby-Tailyour Exocet Falklands (2014).
