Air Marshal Beetham was acting CDS during Lewin's absence in New Zealand. This would appear to be the briefing read by Nott and Leach before the meeting MT held in her room at the House of Commons on the evening of 31 March 1982. It was evidently drafted on 30 March, because it is linked to the minutes of the DOE meeting that afternoon. Read other documents from DEFE11/928.
