A copy of the transcript follows the summary of the call in the opening pages of the document, vividly illustrating the process by which conversations were tidied up in official minutes. The name 'Slaughterman' in the transcript was misheard. Clearly Haig was referring to Shlaudeman, the US Ambassador to Argentina. MT's reference to 'Ross' (Enrique Ros, Costa Mendez's deputy) shows she thought Haig was talking about an Argentinian. |
