MT: "Thatcher drops a few names" (lunchtime speech in Bonn goes wrong) [officials cause her embarrassment]

MT's speech had been drafted by officials in the Foreign Office, whose head (Sir Michael Palliser) afterwards wrote her a letter of deepest apology. In the audience, among others, seems to have been Helmut Kohl.
