Editorial comments: | 1145. An earlier discussion between the two leaders alone in the Oval Office seems to have overrun, and been followed by a four way meeting of principals with Haig and Carrington also present, the whole thing lasting around an hour, 1030-1130. No record of those earlier conversations have been found in the British files. Whitmore's covering note can be found at f58 in the file. |
