Editorial comments: | MT misdated the letter: her appointment diary clearly shows that she saw Evita as Ronnie Millar’s guest on 24 August. He mentions the letter in his memoirs, but had probably mislaid it when writing, misquoting a little from memory ( A View From The Wings , pp254-55). It is clear enough from his account, though, that the word ‘they’ refers to the Peronists rather than Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd-Webber. |
