You always come away uplifted by two things: the total devotion of the doctors and nurses and everyone associated with the hospital. Every doctor and nurse came in—everyone who had been on duty, they all made for the hospital—and some of them had been on duty a very long time. I am told over a thousand people came in to give blood—a thousand volunteers came in to give blood. They could not all obviously give blood, but everyone converged: “Is there anything we can do?” So that just really makes you realise what a wonderful service we have.
