Document type: Speeches, interviews, etc.
Venue: Dover Party Headquarters

Editorial comments: See Carol Thatcher Diary of an Election (1983), p47: "... Mum appeared at a first floor window and made an abortive attempt to say a few words. This was later reported as having been halted by the demonstrators. Not so, the blame should have been placed on the pathetic amplification qualities of the loud hailer she was using, which rendered almost every word inaudible". MT was at the Dover Headquarters 1430-1500, following which she flew back to London by helicopter, arriving at No.10 at 1600.
