Editorial comments: 2000. See Finchley Press, 1 March 1963. This local pressure group was formed "to work for the improvement and expansion of the educational facilities provided by the state". MT spoke at the inaugural meeting. "We have our own local education problems, but they have to be fitted into national problems as a whole," she said. "I have a continuous correspondence on the problems of education in the locality. So far we have not had anybody to look at the differing priorities for schools in this area. I hope this association will consider problems constructively".
