Margaret Thatcher

Speech at Finchley Conservative Association dinner

Document type: Speeches, interviews, etc.
Venue: House of Commons
Source:
Editorial comments: Evening. The Finchley Press, 16 June 1961, reports that the diners "were greatly amused by their MP’s references to the distinguished members who habitually used the Dining Room. Mrs Thatcher almost made some of the Tories blush when she pointed out they were seated at the "Cabinet" table - a privilege no ordinary MP would dare to challenge. She told listeners of those who sit "right" and "left", both in the dining room and in the Chamber, and had other interesting anecdotes of life at Westminster".
